Please join us on April 15th for the 23rd Annual Donor Dash!

The Dash celebrates the life-saving power of donation and honors all of the donors who make it possible. By supporting Gift of Life and the Donor Dash, you will help raise awareness about the critical need to increase the number of those registered as organ and tissue donors. We are looking to partners like you to help make a difference in the lives of those affected by organ and tissue donation. There are more than 5,400 people men, women, and children waiting in our region for a second chance at life through an organ transplant.

As a designated organ donor, Anthony was able to give the gift of life to three people in our local community. A man in his 50's received his liver, a man in his forties received one kidney and a woman in her 20's received the other kidney. Just before Christmas, we received a letter from one of the kidney recipients. "Steve" shared that he was on the donor list for seven years and that his health was deteriorating quickly. He is now back at work and engaged in all of his family's activities. He thanked us for Anthony's "precious" gift. Also prior to Christmas, we received a letter from the Delaware Valley Eye Bank, letting us know that an infant boy in Pennsylvania and a young woman in her 20's in New Jersey have the gift of sight because of Anthony's corneas.

We are comforted by the fact that Anthony's death has brought life and fulfillment to others. So, to honor Anthony, we hope you will join the Anthony Penna Foundation team as a participant in the Donor Dash events on April 15th! You can choose the 5K or 10K run, or the 3K walk. If you choose to run, we'd still love to have everyone walk the 3K together after the races are complete. There's even a Kids Fun Run. Rob & Melanie will be running in the 10K!

We are excited to announce that Delaware Orthopaedic Specialists will be our official Team Sponsor, and featured on the back of our team shirt!

UPDATE (4/13):  We were just informed that the Anthony Penna Foundation team was identified as the largest community team for Sunday’s Donor Dash!!! And for that, we’ve won a contest that we didn’t even know existed and have our own TENT for Sunday! We have 122 registrants and counting! What an unbelievable tribute to our son, Anthony! We will run in his memory as champions of his selfless gift of life to others as an organ donor. And, we’ll run for each other. It has been a long winter. For me, Rob and Gab, it has been a time to reflect and heal. Thank you for being such an unbelievable source of strength and hope for us. We love you all.

With this news, our meeting point will now be AREA #1 (RED CIRCLE) on the attached map. Again, race bib pick up is at the Pre-Registered Runners tent (#8 Blue Circle). You can pick up your Anthony Penna Foundation shirt (if you ordered one) at our meeting location at AREA #1. Look for our Anthony Penna Foundation sign and flag (it will have the logo of the Foundation on it). If you didn't make the deadline (4/10) for online registering for the races or walk, you are welcome to register the day of the event at the On-site Registration tent (#6 Blue Circle). It will be an emotional day for us as we celebrate Anthony and the recipients of his organs. We are humbled that so many of you are joining us!

• The Donor Dash takes place at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
• The 10K run begins at 7:10 a.m.
• The 5K run begins at 7:20 a.m.
• The Kids Fun Run begins at 7:45 a.m.
• The 3K Walk begins at 8:30. We'll all walk together as a Team!
• Registration is $30 until April 10th, 2018. Online registration will close at 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday 4/10. After 4/10, you can register at Pre-Race Packet Pickup or on the day of the Dash for $35.
